Some great news from the world of track and field. SDSS grade 12 student Makayla Roy (18) is currently leading the Nation in U20 and U23 Women’s Javelin throw! In less than favourable wet and windy conditions, Roy set a personal best of 41.06 metres on Sunday, August 16 at a meet in Brampton to establish her Canada leading mark. Roy is also a two time OFSAA Bronze medalist in the javelin (grades 9&10). Congrats Makayla!
