Covid-19 Update - January 18, 2020

From Stratford District Secondary School - January 18, 2020

As Principal, I have just been made aware of one confirmed case of COVID-19 in a member of our school community. Huron Perth Public Health’s investigation has determined that the confirmed case did not attend the school when they would have been potentially infectious to others. Therefore, the risk of COVID-19 spread to the school community is low. To maintain the privacy and confidentiality of the case, HPPH does not identify whether they are a student, staff or visitor, nor provide further details.  At this point there is no reason for concern or any further action for us, as a school community to do but to continue to follow all health and safety protocols to keep students and staff safe when we return to our building. These include:

  1. Self-screen everyday before attending the school, and stay home or go home if you are unwell

  2. Physically distance as much as possible

  3. Perform hand hygiene often

  4. Wear your mask

  5. Avoiding close contact with others outside your household.

All questions should be directed to the Huron Perth Public Health at 1-888-221-2133.

Regards,
Kevin Mills
