Winners of the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative

Huge congratulations are extended to our winners of the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative - YPI Canada at SDSS this year.

YPI is an organization based in Toronto that encourages youth to become involved with charities. Students (alone or in group) research a local/regional/national charity, contact them and create a slide show and explain why they are worthy to win the prize. They then present it to the class. In June, the Civics teachers pick the best one. YPI then presents that charity with a cheque for $5000. Due to Covid, they have decided to award 4 prizes of $1250 each.
